I awaken to her soft breath,
small face against mine,
so close,
Like a dream I never want to end.
As we meet again in the same place as the sun fades,
The burden of the day vanishes,
The warmth of her body against mine,
Her small neck supported by my arm,
I know I’ll see her again tomorrow,
To snuggle through the morning light.
When I awake, I watch her sleep,
Kissing her tiny nose,
Holding her small hand in mine,
My life is complete.
We snuggle to sleep,
We snuggle when we awake,
I finally know peace,
Because no dream is sweeter
Than the life we share.
